Further Education

Thinking about college? College can be a great way to gain new skills, prepare for university, or take the first step towards your chosen career. Many colleges offer a wide range of pathways to suit different interests, learning styles and future goals.

Applications for most college courses typically open during the autumn and winter months for programmes starting the following academic year. Early application is recommended, particularly for popular courses and specialist programmes.

Opportunities also include Schools-College Partnership courses and foundation Apprenticeships, in areas such as  construction, computing, hospitality and the creative industries. Many courses allow you to continue your school studies while gaining valuable experience and industry-recognised qualifications.

By taking part in these programmes, you can develop practical skills, build confidence, strengthen your CV and gain insight into further education and career opportunities, helping you make informed decisions about your next steps after school.
